Purpose
The State Energy Council (SEC) brings together state agencies to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate efforts to meet the goal of advancing energy efficiency and renewable energy in the State of Iowa. SEC seeks to capitalize on the skills, responsibilities, and resources of participating agencies through agency collaboration. Key roles of the SEC are to:
Act as a forum for discussing key issues and solutions to problems that are facing departments regarding energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Collaborate on legislation from the participating state entities. The proposed legislation will be reviewed in the context of the energy independence plan.
Share ideas for best practices on environmental and energy issues in order for state government to lead the state by example. |
