All applicants to the Iowa Power Fund are required to first complete a pre-application before a full application. It is only after a pre-application has been completed and reviewed that an applicant will be invited to complete a full application. Applicants are encouraged to attend Due Diligence Committee meetings, but are not allowed to comment, or answer questions about their application at the pre-application stage. Once applications have reached full application stage, applicants will be asked to give a presentation to the Due Diligence Committee.

New Grant Opportunity: Iowa Power Fund Community Grant Program
Eligible applicants are cities, counties, non-profit organizations, organizations involved with energy efficiency or conservation efforts, and environmental organizations. The program provides grants to help these organizations and communities create local programs to save energy. The Office will consider projects in these categories: the promotion of renewable energy systems, promotion of community energy savings opportunities, the creation of community or regional energy efficiency alliances, development of a community energy savings plan, kindergarten through twelfth grade education programs, and projects that concentrate on energy efficiency public awareness campaigns.
The Office of Energy Independence will accept applications from $1,000 to $50,000 under this new program. Applicants will be asked to submit one application by November 20, 2009
