Building Energy $mart Program
The Office of Energy Independence has re-launched the Iowa Energy Bank as the Building Energy Smart (BEST) program for Iowa’s buildings. The program provides financing as well as technical assistance and program management to install energy efficient and renewable energy projects. See details on the program. Iowa Receives $5.9 Million Energy Sector Green Jobs Grant

Energy Efficiency Appliance Rebate Program

Review program eligibility and FAQ’s. The rebate registration website and toll-free number will be announced here and to the public one week prior to the start of the program.
- Reservations for Iowa's appliance rebate program will begin March 1, 2010 at 8:00 AM
- Appliances purchased before March 1, 2010 are not eligible for rebates.
- You must live in Iowa to be eligible for the rebate program.
- Appliance purchases must be made from an Iowa retail location to be eligible.
- Internet orders will NOT qualify for rebates.
- You must replace an old appliance with a new energy efficient appliance to be eligible.
- There are no income restrictions for rebates.
We urge consumers and retailers to review the guidelines of approved appliances:

State Energy Program Grant & Loan Information

State Energy Program (SEP) Project Awards
Governor Chet Culver and the Office of Energy Independence recently announced the first round of State Energy Program projects to receive federal stimulus awards.
Projects were awarded in: public sector, private sector, non-profit sector, training and information, innovative projects and technology demonstration.
NOTE: All geothermal projects in the public sector are still under consideration and those awards will be announced soon.
